Our first home meet of the season was great!

Wow!  How about our Barracudas, coaches, and parents!  While outnumbered, the Barracudas swam very well and many swimmers improved their times. In fact, they set 4 new Barracudas records at the meet.  See our Results page for details!

We hosted a great meet and are very thankful for all of the efforts of our volunteers, especially those that work so much behind the scenes ensuring we have a smooth meet.  Here's a little list of thank you's for this home meet.

Big thanks to Jim Olson for supplying the Full Service Auto Parts smoker and his grilling expertise for the hamburgers and hot dogs.

A wonderful thank you to Lori & Danny VanDeWalle and Jane Guenther for preparing and running concessions.

Thank you to Randy Mowry for running the 50/50 raffle and to Rob & Wendi Dollarhide, the winners, for contributing their winnings of nearly $140 back to the Barracudas!

A heart-swelled thank you to Lisa McGovern for performing our national anthem so beautifully!

Clock-stopping gratitude to Murphy "Murf" Emmons, our head timer, for ensuring all of our stopwatches were reenergized and ready, and for leading us to "good times" at the meet.

And a wild, crazy man thank you to Chris Koval.  Chris ran audio out to the light pole over the starting block, mounted the speakers at both ends of the pool, ran new inputs to drive the audio, and set up our sound system for the meet.  Chris also reset the backstroke flagpole sleeve at the shallow end of the pool.  If it required work before the meet, Chris was probably involved.  Okay, Chris isn't quite superman; he had some help from Mike Rios when running the audio out to the speakers.

I'd be negligent (and stupid!) to not mention Cecilia Bruce.  Cecilia really runs this team; that guy Ray is just a front.  Cecilia made sure we had supplies for the judges and timers, scheduled the pest man to treat for mosquitos, reminded (and nagged) Ray to secure a referee, helped out with getting swimmers to the ready bench, etc., etc., etc.

And all of our volunteers did a wonderful job at the meet.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The volunteer schedules for all 4 dual meets are published.  Please review the Volunteers page.
